Epex

European Power Exchange (EPEX SPOT) SE is a European electric power exchange operating in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland.

Steps to use

  1. Contact Opinum: If you wish to add Epex data, please contact your representative at Opinum.
  2. Create Sites,Sources and Variables: Set up your sites, sources and variables that will contain Epex data.
  3. Configure the EPEX trigger : this integration works with the trigger Epex. This trigger type will be added on your account by the Opinum team.

  4. File upload : Epex CSV files must be uploaded on your Data Hub storage. To do so, you can either directly upload on the storage, on our FTP or we can retrieve files from Epex SFTP. In that case, the cron job that get files from the SFTP creates a file in datahub that is named "EPEX_auction_spot_15_prices_%country%_2025.csv".

Variable configuration

  • Type : Raw
  • Granularity : 1h ou 15 min depending on the granularity of the data
  • Mapping config : "EPEX - %type%"
    • Prices for prices data
    • Volume for volumes data
  • Quantity : Instantaned for prices and integrated for volumes
  • Unity : Euro for prices and MWh for volumes

Users rights

To create site/source, users need to have the site and ources claims ADMIN. Managers can create site and source without any special configuration.
